The Purpose of NAM

  • NAM operates on behalf or members and non-members alike with funds obtained from gifts, grants, and donations.

  • It will operate in the public interest as a non-profit corporation for the purpose of conducting, sponsoring and encouraging study and research on issues important to protect the well-being, security, and comfort of people who use campground resorts, condominiums and time shares.

  • It will compile, publish, and disseminate information, reports and other documents that can be used to educate the general public and government officials on those issues and potential solutions to related problems.

  • Information will also be obtained and disseminated in discussion groups, forums, lectures, panels, etc.

  • The organization exists exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes.

  • State and/or regional associations will be established by members of this corporation to support the purposes stated above.

What we do

 

I.

Assist people who are being cheated or deceived.

 

 

 

 

 

II.

Increase identification and reporting of fraud and deception in the campground and timeshare industries. (watchdog)

 

A.

Encourage campground and timeshare members to report cases of fraud and breach of contract.

 

B.

Encourage consumer protection officials to investigate sales practices, prize awards, and adherence to state, local and Federal laws.

 

 

 

 

 

III.

Increase awareness of fraud and deception within the campground/timeshare industries.

 

A.

Publish and distribute newsletters.

 

B.

Develop pamphlets or brochures to be available at AG consumer protection offices.

 

C.

Encourage media exposure (AARP, FMCA, WIT, newspapers, etc.)

 

D.

Get on the agenda of regional attorney general meetings

Encourage government officials to establish and enforce laws that protect the rights of campground members and timeshare 'owners'.
